Jewelry Care
Wondering how to care for your clay jewelry? It’s super simple! Here’s some of my helpful tips. Remember, each piece is handmade, so please be kind to your beautiful new jewelry.
- Store in a clean, dry space away from humidity. To eliminate humidity or moisture inside your jewelry compartments/boxes, you can place silica gel packs.
- Be sure to remove all clay items before swimming or showering! Although they are waterproof once baked, prolonged exposure to water can cause slight discoloration of clay or tarnishing of earring components.
- If your jewelry has brass components, they will begin to tarnish over time. All you have to do is shine them up with a soft rag and a little bit of soap or (believe it or not) a little bit of ketchup! Rub it on and let it sit for a second (not too long because it’s acidic) then wipe it off extremely well. It’ll shine those brass components up like brand new!
- If a little bit of makeup or dirt happen to get on your earrings, use a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol and GENTLY wipe them clean.
